At the opening ceremony, Zhang Tong, Deputy Secretary of the Nantong Municipal Committee and Mayor; Hu Yongjun, Vice Mayor of Nantong Municipal Government and Secretary of Chongchuan District Committee; Wu Jiahua, Deputy Secretary of Chongchuan District Committee and District Governor; Yan Jingxiang, Member of the Standing Committee of Chongchuan District Committee and Party Secretary of Chongchuan Economic Development Zone; along with officials from municipal and district departments, joined representatives from TE’s Automotive Business Division—Senior Vice President and General Manager for Asia-Pacific, Shen Weiming; Vice President and General Manager for China of both the Automotive and Industrial & Commercial Transportation Divisions, Sun Xiaoguang; Zhang Chao, General Manager for China and Vice President of Human Resources for Asia-Pacific; and Yu Yi, Vice President of Operations for Asia-Pacific of the Automotive Business Division—as well as key customers and partners to witness this milestone moment.

The Nantong facility has a total construction area of approximately 39,900 square meters and has created over a thousand high-quality jobs for the local community. It primarily manufactures core products such as high-voltage connectors for new energy vehicles and high-speed, high-frequency data connectors for automobiles. Notably, the Nantong site is TE’s only integrated production base in China for advanced driver-assistance floating cameras and automotive Type-C data cables. To enable the successful implementation of these cutting-edge products, the facility integrates end-to-end capabilities covering injection molding, equipment processing, and full-process assembly. Additionally, it fully aligns with TE’s mature manufacturing execution system (MES) and incorporates advanced technologies including smart logistics, intelligent traceability, and automated error prevention.
